In this video I am experimenting on the chords for the last few lines of the song. I used Am, E, F and C with an occasional G or G7 in between in order to emphasize the change. It is most likely that I will use these chords for the song but not necessarily in the order that i played in the video. I will discuss with my group mates tomorrow on how the chords will shape up and finish the melodies and counter melodies.

In this video i am playing the chords of the first few lines of the song. I hummed the melodies a bit. The sound quality was bad but my playing was decent. I'll try to be more smooth in playing it next time.

Today we were divided into our musical groups and composed our first four bars. Mr Herry substituted for Mr John. We wrote our notes on the board to be checked. My group created a four bar with C, F, Dm and G chords. We arranged the melodies according to the chords made.

We did not have any instrument class today because we practiced our composition in the music room. By next session i should be able to do 12 bars already.

Today Mr John was not present during our class so Mr Herry substituted. We learnt about the soprano, alto, tenor and baritone ranges and also the different clefs used like the G clef, Bass clef and the E clef. We learnt how to make the counter melody for the melody and to incorporate chords in the melody. We were divided into groups, I was in one group with Steven and Hashfi and our task is to make a 32 bar composition for two guitars and a violin. Until next session, i'll be trying to experiment on the composition and hopefully come up with something good. By Friday i should be done with at least 4 bars.

During instrument class, we just practiced our guitar skills.

Today we had our singing assessment. We had to sing a western pop song. It was called "price tag" by Jessie J. I thought I did well during the assessment because I am able to reach the notes pretty consistently. After that, we sung "we are the world" by Michael Jackson too. We did not do much today other than the assessment because it took a while to sing the song and to write all the reflection on the booklet.

Today we practiced composing a song and detecting its chord by ourselves. I learnt today that it is easier to make a melody after you have made the chords based on the type of chord progression you chose. After that we practiced singing the pop song again and this time we were even better during the rap.

Today we learnt further about chord progression and how to arrange the different notes to compliment the main melody of the composition. We then practiced singing the "Price Tag" song by Jessie J again and this time we're quite good during the rap part.

Then we went to the instrument class and practiced guitar as usual. I played some classical song and some western songs. I also did a duet with Hashfi again which was great fun.

Today was the first day of term 4. We were explained that we are going to sing a western pop song for one assessment which was great. We practiced singing the song "price tag" by Jessie J in class and did vocal warm ups before. we also learnt chord progression. I felt really good with it and I'm confident i can do well in it. You see, we're supposed to compose a song with the use of chord progression.

During interment class i played a duet with Hashfi. It was really good and i am going to keep on practicing my tempo so that not only will the song come out right but it would also allow me to play in a duet without much trouble.
